Have you ever heard this joke before?
A German-speaking tourist went into a restuarant in New York and asked for a hamburger. After having waited for more than half an hour, he got impatient and shouted to the waiter: "When do I become a hamburger, Sir?" Whereupon the waiter immediately answered: "I hope never, Sir!"
So beware of these words that sound the same in English and German, but which mean completely different things, like e.g become - werden and bekommen - get.
